First Year
Students wishing to major in Political Science must take POL SCI 1G06. If you want to pursue a 3 year BA you must earn a grade of C- or higher. If you plan to do a four year honours BA you need a grade of B- or higher.
The Department's Level I course is the foundation course for all Political Science programs at McMaster -- we believe it is vital to introduce students to an understanding of the nature of politics. Power and the institutions of political governance within countries and internationally. The instructors that are teaching Political Science 1G06 are among the Department's best. Following the first year students can select courses from a five fields: Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics, Political Theory, Public Policy or International Relations
When choosing the courses to take in future years remember three things. First, we have a number of different fields (Canadian etc) if you want to concentrate your courses in a particular area. Second, Honour students have three courses they must take: POL SCI 2O06 Political Theory, POL SCI 3N06 Methods, Statistics and Political Analysis, plus three units of Canadian Politics. Third most fourth year seminars have prerequisites, so make sure you have the required courses.
If you would like to find
